Audi Introduces Hybrid Cars To Le Mans
After 24-hour race at Le Mans since 2001 have managed to bring the first victory for the TFSI engine and after a surprising victory in 2006, when all first won first place with a car equipped with diesel engine Audi seeks to overcome the limits and the "crown" and a hybrid car.
Regulations in recent years, the race taking place over 24 hours, each team must attend at least three pilots, they not allowed to drive more than 4 consecutive hours. This year, the race that will keep from 16 until June 17, part 4 Audi cars and, logically, with four pilots: André Lotterer, Allan McNish, Timo Bernhard and Oliver Jarvis. However, only 2 of these cars will be hybrid, meaning that Audi wants to throw himself headlong and rely only on machines "cross". Before attempting to obtain a gold medal at Le Mans, hybrid models, which will be officially presented at the end of this month, will begin the 12 hour race at Sebring (USA) and will "run" in race 6 hours of Spa-Francorchamps (Belgium). Also in the race at Sebring, Audi will also build on last year's winner of Le Mans, Audi R18 TDI. And since I mentioned the past editions of Le Mans, to give it to Caesar what was Caesar's and to say that the brand with the four circles obtained not less than 10 trophies in the prestigious competition, held the record in recent history competition.
In conclusion, Audi again bet on innovation and follows its motto "Vorsprung durch Technik" (progress through technology), and we can only wish them success. May the best win!
