Koenigsegg Agera R at 2012 Geneva Auto Show
2012 Geneva Auto Show will provide a confrontation egos at the highest level. This is because the Bugatti Veyron will be offset by a revised version of R. Ager rival Koenigsegg Or as sharp R facelift, if you want...
At the end of last year, Koenigsegg Ager A triumphant announce the award of not less than 6 new world records for speed and braking, Swedish officials are satisfied that they have "taken the cream" Germans who boast Bugatti Veyron.
But time passes very quickly, and the record does not stand - on this principle, the Koenigsegg will present at the 2012 Geneva Auto Show in a revised version of bolide Ager R. Or, if you will, a kind of facelift, but are applied more technical side, not outside - which keeps the main novelty of the new wheels, which are aluminum alloy, but are made of carbon fiber (eat that, the Veyron!).
V8 biturbo engine of 4.0 liters, develops 1115 horsepower and 1200 before Nm, but engineers have managed to get an extra 25 horsepower, so Ager R 2012 boasts maximum power of 1140 rpm CP/7.100 the maximum torque of 1,200 still remaining Nm/4.100 rpm - but was improved torque curve between 2700 and 7300 rpm are available over 1,000 rpm.
Engine type is FlexFuel, a vehicle fueled with ethanol, and the gearbox is sequential, with 7 reports and double-clutch. We add a mass of only 1330 kg machine, thanks to intensive use of aluminum and carbon fiber, so it is normal for performance to be exceptional.
Thanks to these changes, R Ager Koenigsegg announced a top speed of 440 km / h (ie greater than 431 km / h Bugatti Veyron Super Sport), while starting 0-100 km / h is estimated at 2.9 second - unfortunately, still worse than during the 2.5 seconds needed by German rival.
But it remains to see if a new practical test will not reveal a surprise, after the world launch of the revised 2012 Geneva Auto Show.
