Volkswagen Cross Coupe Concept had its world premiere at the Tokyo Motor Show in 2011 but, for the 2012 Geneva Auto Show at the Volkswagen came up with changes so that the concept "boasting" with a consumption of 1.8 liters / 100 km.
Version presented last fall at the Tokyo proposed a plug-in hybrid propulsion. Car benefit from two electric motors and a gasoline powered internal combustion. However, the 2012 Geneva Auto Show, the Volkswagen replaced the petrol engine with a diesel. Thus, the German manufacturer boasts that this concept is able to provide an average of just 1.8 litres/100 km and CO2 emissions of 46 g / km.
Total power concept grew from 261 hp to 302 hp and top speed is 220 km/h.
